May. 9th, 2006 09:07 pmI"m back! Unfortunately, I am soooo busy this week, I won't have the opportunity to read much until the weekend. Moving went as well as could be expected. I'm about 75% unpacked. I have a working kitchen and one functional bathroom. My bed is made and my furniture is pretty much where I want it (I think). I still have to unpack all of my knick knacks and pictures, which are substantial. I need to hang things on the walls and organize the closets. I also think that I need to buy a new shelving unit and possibly a nice desk for the extra bedroom/office. Have I mentioned that I have about 350 more square feet than my old apartment? I love the place though. The location is so nice and I can be at work within 20 minutes, which is a first for me. For 10 years, it had taken 45 minutes in perfect traffic to get to work. I am still learning my way around the new shopping areas, which are not as nice as my old shopping areas. It sounds petty, but I like going shopping somewhere that is clean and not over crowded. Maybe this way, I won't spend as much time in the stores and will spend less money. Yeah, I don't think so either.
As soon as I am able to find everything, I plan on taking pictures of my new place and my neighborhood and posting them. If it's nice this weekend, I think I might take pictures of the beach as well since I can walk to it in 2 minutes.
I must run. I have my final class tomorrow and my last project is due. I still have to type it up, although it shouldn't take too much time. However, I still need to finish setting up my on-line testing sessions because we start next week. I can't get that work done in the office because I am constantly interrupted by teachers asking when it will be done. I have had to hold my tongue to keep from shouting, "IF YOU WOULD SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE, I COULD FINISH THE WORK!!!" They don't realize that I am being held up from my work by every 5 minute question they ask. It doesn't seem like a lot of time, but if I get 20 questions a day and each take 5 minutes, I have lost over an hour and a half of working time. It adds up, doesn't it?
Obviously work is kicking my butt lately. I almost broke down in tears today from being so stressed. Fortunately, I have awesome administrators who are very supportive of me and back whatever I say when it comes to testing. That may be simply because no one else wants my job of setting up 4800 state-mandated tests, the school testing schedule, and rooms in which to do it all. Actually, the administration is good about supporting me all of the time, not just during testing.
Must go work! I've missed everyone! I promise to read and comment on all your lovely fics soon!
