Jun. 5th, 2006 11:41 pmJust a brief update. Real Life still keeping me busy. Actually, it's my mother, and after the whole hospital/possible heart attack scare, she knows that she has me and my brother at her back and call. So, I have been at her house doing work. Never mind that my apartment is STILL NOT FINISHED. My brother and I have finished the landscaping in front of her house. Well, he did most of the work. I just got to play with the table saw, cutting timbers for him to use. (BTW, when cutting large quantities of wood on a table saw, you should not wear a tank top. I swear that I had half of a sawmill down my bra by the end of the day! Not comfortable!) We also, have put a new gate up for her back fence. This proved to be very challenging since th idiot who put up the original fence set the posts off kilter, one being about 2 inches in front of the others. We couldn't pull out the old posts, so we had to adjust for that, trying to keep everything level. It ended up being a two weekend job.
I still have not gotten official word on my job, which is still in limbo. Human resources was supposed to post the job this past week, but now, I'm told it will be next week. If the new contracts/new job is supposed to start July 1st, don't you think they need to do this already!?! I just want to apply for the new job, interview and hopefully, get hired. I just want it done.
My scorched back is finally not red. It's still a little tender, and it's peeling like nobody's business. Well, the summer just isn't complete unless I have a sunburn. Guess I can check that off the list of things to do. My brother is so funny because he has decided that he needs to create some type of tent to take on the beach, so I don't get so much direct sun light next time. Yes, having a rheumatic disorder does make me photosensitive, but that was just a case of spending too much time with my back facing the sun and not reapplying lotion. He's a sweetheart anyway.
Must run. Must sleep. I have more classroom presentations tomorrow and they suck the energy right out of me!
