small triumphs

Our school had a parent night to discuss scholarships.  Traditionally, parent nights tend to be a little pot-luck.  Sometimes, you have 100 people and sometimes, you have 1.  Last year, we even had one night where no one showed up.  Tonight, we had 214 people attend.  I have been working at this school for 11 years and we have NEVER had that kind of turn out.  My department really advertised it hard, making announcements, posting the info on the marquee, putting announcements on the school tv system, and making the automatic phone calls home.  It obviously paid off.  I am just coming down off of the high from having such a successful presentation.  Things are good.
