I've just slept almost 10 hours after the Benedryl started working. I can actually breathe and my throat isn't hurting any more. Still a little sneezy and snuffly but okay over all. I feel a bit spacy, but I am pretty sure that it's due to the Benedryl. That is why I can't take it when I work. If I did, they would find me curled up in the back room asleep. Not exactly professional, but wouldn't it be nice if it was? I am all for nap time in the work place. I have always had a dip in energy in the afternoon, so nap time would be good. I think that I would be more productive in the afternoon if I could have a nice power nap. I think that the kids would agree with me. Isn't it funny how we have to force younger kids to take naps, but we have to force them to stay awake when they are older? The kids in high school would love to have nap time, and research shows that adolescents need more sleep than they do as pre-teens or adults, approximately 10 hours, because their bodies are changing so much. Maybe I just never left adolescence. That's not it. I am usually good with 4 - 6 hours of sleep a night and feel my best with that. (I get it from my father. He's the same way.) I've been a night owl all of my life. My parents had a horrible time getting me to go to sleep when I was little. I can get up early and function, even if I have had only a few hours of sleep. No matter if I have had 2 hours or 12 hours of sleep, I will always be tired in the afternoon. It's just a down time for my body. Okay, I am seriously rambling now. I think that I need some peppermint tea and another nice, hot shower to clear my head of the medicine.
